About the walks
We offer a wide variety of walks, all year round, from short summer evening strolls to half and full day walks for those who like social walking - see our PROGRAMME. However, many of our members walk independently.
We welcome Ramblers members from outside our area. Also non-members may join us on a few walks as a guest, but we do expect people to join eventually.
If you are in any doubt about your experience or equipment, we recommend that you try an easier walk first. If you have any underlying medical condition please inform the walk's leader.
For all walks good waterproof walking boots are needed. Likewise waterproof clothing, together with an extra sweater.
On full or half days you will be expected to take the food and drink you will need, as many walks are far away from any shops.
We use public transport on some walks and share cars on others. When car-share is used the leader measures the distance travelled and collects a voluntary contribution from each person, which is then shared equally between the drivers. As courtesy to the driver, please take a change of shoes and a bag for your muddy boots.
Unless otherwise stated on the Programme we meet in Lancaster at the Riverside Car Park on Caton Road, just upstream of Skerton Bridge.
Regrettably, we do not allow dogs on our walks.
If you need any other information on the walks please phone Cicely Pickles on 01524 38290 or e-mail secretary@lancramblers1@yahoo.co.uk
